I too remember this picture hanging in my home I grew up. It was over the sofa too.

I haven't seen it for years and it was sold at an estate sale my parents had before they moved from the home we grew up at.

Today, I was sitting in a restaurant here in Minneapolis and looked up at the wall and their was that painting!

This essay along with its subject has been one of my most popular postings. Thank you for sharing! The work of Amadeo Boroni, though small in value, is priceless in memory.

Hello Tyler. That beautiful picture was over the couch of my great-great aunt's. I lost her last September at the age of 99, one month before she turned 100 years young. We too, had long talks about that picture. The picture now hangs in my house. I miss her so. <3

Hi Tyler. When I was growing up, this exact same print hung over our sofa as well, and I also got lost in the scenery and imagined what it would be like to be there.

Thanks for posting this. This painting has proven very hard to find for all that it was mass-produced back in the day.

Hi Tyler,

What a pleasure to make your acquaintance here on your blog and what a beautiful article to come to!

I love all the quotes you share and as someone who actually got rid of her television and never listens to or reads news stories (aside from a quick scan on the net to see the gist of what the world is talking about) I completely can relate to, and agree about the negativity present.

And I love the last line!!! Wow, that message alone should be plastered on banners everywhere. Thank you for being a positive agent for change!

P.S. And, thank you for the link love.

P.P.S And I love the message you put at the bottom of your site for IE users. I completely agree with the approach you guys took and having a husband who is an amazing web developer and seeing the time wasted to try to please IE, I totally understand. (Love Safari & Firefox :)

After reading this posting, I wondered the exact same point that I almost always wonder when scanning brand new sites. Just what do I think concerning this? Precisely how can it effect me? I'm very thankful for the blog's innovation in addition to how it has changed the net in to a enormous gallery of shared views. Surprisingly, Yahoo directed me to this weblog when I had been working away at weight loss and health related research. It is always good times checking things out and I do hope you'll keep on writing new posts. Enjoy the week.
